EJIMA

Twins and a mirror

Ejima is the Igbo translation for the English word ‘Twin’

Mohamed (L) and Ahmand (R)

In November 2018 I met and subsequently shot twin brothers Mohamed and Ahmand Babatounde in Cotonou, Benin Republic

In shooting them, I was aiming to portray how twins are more often than not, a reflection of one another despite being two individuals with unique traits

The ease with which they could exist next to one another was something to behold, as though truly, one was beginning where the other was ending.

I asked Mohamed ‘what do you like the most about being a twin?’ to which he responded ‘Having an angel on earth’
